A disposal that hums but will not spin is jammed or burned out. One that drips underneath has usually rusted through, and that drip is quietly soaking the cabinet floor. Swapping a disposal at the existing hookup is a clean one visit job.

What the job includes

• Old unit out, new one mounted at the same sink and plug
• Same horsepower or a quieter, stronger step up, your call
• New sink flange and putty so it does not leak from the top
• Dishwasher drain hooked back up correctly
• Jam check first, because sometimes a stuck unit just needs freeing
• Tested full of water before I call it done

What it costs

Disposal plus labor sits well under the $1,000 line, quoted flat from a photo of what is under your sink. If your old unit only needs a jam cleared or a reset, I will tell you and the quote shrinks to match.

I am not a licensed contractor. California law limits my jobs to under $1,000 total for labor and materials, on work that needs no building permit. A disposal where there has never been one means new wiring and drain changes, and part of that is licensed work. I will map the line for you before any money moves.
